When we think of stolen cars most of us probably think of the flashy sports cars and SUV's as being the most popular among thieves.
And while they still are, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) has found evidence that car thieves are becoming more eco-concious!
The NICB published a report on the increase of thefts of compact and sub-compact cars.
For the years 2010, 2011, and 2012 there were almost 20,000 compact and subcompact cars stolen in the U.S.
There were more compact than subcompact cars stolen - over 14,000 as compared to 5,501 subcompact cars.
The states with the largest number of thefts were: California with 4,205, Florida with 2,029, Texas with 1,584, New York with 873 and Illinois with 699.
Out of those cars stolen, here is a breakdown of the makes and models most loved by car thieves- from most stolen to least stolen...
